Ruth’s House has a free and confidential service for individuals who are currently experiencing or escaping domestic violence and those who have experienced domestic violence in the past. This includes children who have witnessed verbal, emotional, or physical abuse in their homes.
Living in an abusive relationship can leave you with:
- very low self-esteem
- feelings of worthlessness, confusion or guilt
- frequent worrying, sadness or depression
- emotional exhaustion
- feelings of being trapped and hopeless
Children living in these homes are always hurt mentally and emotionally. They may show NO signs of problems. Many grow up to become victims of abuse or become abusive themselves.
These problems can be difficult to sort out on your own, so you may want to consider talking to a professional counselor. We also offer counseling for Spanish-speaking clients via a counselor and staff interpreter.
WE’RE HERE FOR YOU.
The counseling service is free and appointments can be made between 9.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m., Tuesday to Thursday. There are also support groups available.
If you would like to speak to a counselor, please contact us at 946-0709. If you phone and the counselor does not answer your call, she is probably with a client so please leave a message and she will return your call as soon as possible.
