Community Education and Outreach
Domestic abuse can be a difficult subject to talk about, but raising awareness is critical to changing existent attitudes and preventing domestic violence.
Through our community outreach and education program, Ruth’s House offers:
- Presentations to schools, civic groups, clubs, social service agencies, churches, businesses and professional groups that help increase awareness and understanding of domestic abuse
- Preventive education with middle and high school students that helps youth recognize abuse and develop healthy relationships.
- Educational workshops that cover topics such as workplace domestic violence, safety planning, domestic violence assessment, gender and domestic violence, and the effects of abuse on children.
