Who we are

The purpose of Ruth's House is to glorify God by assisting in the interruption of the cycle of family violence in Beaufort County, NC. Our mission is:

-To educate the community about family violence and all it engenders
-To provide family members engaged in domestic violence with alternatives
-To provide services for the victims of family violence

Where we are

Ruth’s House announced its existence to the Beaufort County community in October 2011.  We are a new 501c3 organization.  We are in the midst of building a solid foundation for our domestic violence program by establishing sound organizational and financial policies and procedures as we begin to write a business plan.

Our Board consists of an attorney, a lieutenant from the Sheriff’s Office, citizens with varying backgrounds in social service (including domestic violence) and representatives from a number of area churches and civic organizations.  A CPA will oversee our finances.  We are pursuing partnerships with other non-profits and are particularly thankful for the ongoing support that we have received from the Center for Family Violence Prevention in Greenville.

We are well under way and have made much progress. We will have more updates on a regular basis as we continue to develop our program. To learn more, please explore the links above for more information.
